Bodywork

  • (Strozzi/gs) somatic bodywork combines breathwork, pressure points, movement, and conversation. We work at the level of the tissues and muscles to access unconscious emotional holding and unresolved trauma, and/or to increase a sense of embodied awareness and aliveness.

  • I am offering low-cost practice sessions as I continue my training in CranioSacral therapy. Cranialsacral therapy (CST) is a type of bodywork that relieves compression in the bones of the head, sacrum, and spinal column through non-invasive gentle touch. It is a light-touch modality that can allow for deep relaxation and reset.

  • A mix of modalities to address what is most impacting you. I am trained in Connective Tissue, Deep Tissue, Swedish relaxation massage, and various forms of somatic bodywork for nervous system regulation and emotional tension release.

Coaching

  • Somatic coaching/counseling is a body-centered approach to healing and personal growth. We work with the body to transform habits and patterns that are getting in the way of your longings, and support you to build the skills necessary to embody who you want to be in the world. Somatics is particularly helpful for healing relational wounds and building relational skills.

  • Through somatic coaching, I offer support to the queer and trans community. Somatics has been an invaluable part of my own transition through self-acceptance, healing from trauma and oppression, and in navigating the confusing complexities of gender and bodies. I use the tools of somatics to offer this support to others in my community. (This has become a focus, but I work with all identities, queer or not)

  • Somatics is also particularly useful for healing from the impacts of trauma and oppression (systemic trauma). I offer a form of trauma integration that combines somatic movement practices and somatic bodywork to support you to build resilience, process unresolved experiences and emotions, and regain an internal sense of safety, embodiment, and empowerment.

  • A 6-week somatic group to unlearn and unravel the ways that tendencies of white supremacy live in our tissues and shape our conscious and unconscious actions.

  • 4 week journey into the eccentric corners of the somatic arts. Body as canvas. Aliveness as medicine. Sensation as knowledge. Together we will play, feel and experiment with the embodied technologies of several different artists and practitioners who blur the lines between somatics, art and healing.

  • A depthful and transformative introduction to politicized somatic practice in a small group setting.

    Participants will be guided through a series of individual, partnered, and group somatic practices, designed to move beyond the embodied patterns that keep you constricted and towards more life, more connection, and more alignment with your values. We center our aliveness and transformative potential even amidst the current conditions of oppressive power.

Practicing the embodiment we need to create the world we want.

Thirdspace Somatics is a project that continues to bloom in new ways. It is my private practice as well as my passion project. It’s about embodiment. It’s about time-tested methods of healing, as well as experimentation and embodied research. It’s about cultivating new social practices to create new worlds as this one crumbles.
